21th UECT European Cycle Tourism Week  
in Saignelégier (Switzerland) from July 10 to 17, 2027

SITUATION

From 10 to 17 July 2027, during the 21th UECT European cycle tourists week from all over Europe will be welcomed at Saignelégier (Switzerland) historic city of 2,530 inhabitants founded in 1414, located in the north-west of Switzerland, in the Canton of Jura and at an altitude of 980 metres, it is a cross-country skiing and hiking resort.

The Canton of Jura is part of the tourist region Jura et Trois-Lacs et part of the Regional Nature Park of Doubs is located in its territory. It offers typical landscapes with many picturesque villages such as St-Ursanne. as well as many lakes.

The climate is subarctic continental.

The Canton of Jura is part of the tourist region Franches-Montagnes with its wooded pastures, its small bucolic roads that will enchant cyclists.

  ORGANISATION

In close cooperation with the UECT, the Swiss organisers of the association Jura et Trois-Lacs, The municipality of Saignelégier, vWe will welcome guests at the "administrative" centre which will be located near thee Halle du Marché-Concours of Saignelégier (close to the city center) where the : :

• The secure UECT Federal campsite will be on 4 separate areas with complete sanitary facilities, grassy ground, meadows and a few pitches on gravel or asphalt (total capacity of 500 pitches and 250 electrical connections + possibility of recharging batteries electric bikes) with fully equipped toilet facilities
• Catering
• Entertainment
• The UECT cycling clothing sales stand.

The Halle du Marché-Concours will also be the start/finish point of the various road circuits that will allow you to discover this region conducive to cycling tours. There are three (40-80-120 km) every day from Monday to Friday, plus two "warm-ups" on Saturday and Sunday, these circuits with moderate, medium and serious difficulty, depending on the routes of your choice, will allow you to visit as many villages as possible in the Canton of Jura, this is the objective that the local organisers have set themselves.

For accompanying persons, the programme of visits will be focused exclusively on the tourist sites with travel by bus and tourist trains.

Please note : The Swiss organisers wish to welcome the participants of the 21st UECT European Week as well as possible and that is why the participation will be a maximum of 1,400 people, this figure has been calculated according to the number of pitches created on the UECT federal campsite and the accommodation possibilities within a radius of 15 km around Saignelégier.

Due to the absence of the FFVélo Federal Week in 2027, only 1,100 French people will be able to register/participate in the SE UECT 2027 in order not to have only a Franco/French participation, and to guarantee a multi-nation representation as in previous organizations. A computer application will be set up to manage the follow-up of French registrations..
