From 29 June to 6 July 2024, during the 18th European Week of the UECT, cycle tourists from all over Europe will be welcomed at Vila Pouca de Aguiar (Portugal) town of 13,000 inhabitants, situated at an altitude of 771 metres, on the mythical N2 motorway, located 120 km to the north-east of Porto and 30 km north of Vila Réal. Vila Pouca de Aguiar and its tourist surroundings are to be discovered on Planet Portugal it is a region close to the Douro, favorable to cycling with its small roads in a bucolic nature of high pastures.
The city qualifies as the capital of granite. This is justified by the extraordinary quality of marble from the mines exploited in the region.
The thermal baths of Pedras Salagas from which the waters of the famous Bock beer are drawn, are 6.5 km way and will host the Opening Ceremony of this event..
The climate is oceanic with temperate summers due to the nearby Atlantic Ocean, average summer temperatures of about 20 ° C – 27 ° C in July.
